    Superhero Birthday Party

My oldest recently turned ten and we celebrated with a superhero themed birthday party at home. This was his third superhero themed party. He had one when he turned four and then again when he turned seven. My son just loves this theme. Here is how we pulled it off using simple supplies, little expense, and not much time (as his little sister’s birthday was just four days away). I also made some printable superhero masks and food labels that are free to download below. Hoping these ideas and printables can be fun for your kids too! Decorations: I purchased a pack of paper plates from Walmart and used painter’s…

    Doctor Party

Recently we celebrated my favorite doctor’s birthday… my husband who is a pathologist. We served some of his best-loved foods and I made some fun themed printables that is free to download below. Hoping these ideas and printables can also help you to celebrate your favorite doctor, future doctor, or healthcare worker. Decorations: I made these Snellen inspired eye charts to place around the house to decorate. There are some free editable versions that you can find online, however I wanted a thicker font and more control over where each letter was placed as well as a border so I made my own. My husband doesn’t exactly go by Dr.…

    Unicorn Birthday

Recently our middle daughter turned 5 and requested a unicorn themed birthday. Colorful, unique, and lovely, it was a wonderful theme that reflected my daughter. Here is how my kids and I created an easy and affordable birthday party to celebrate with her family and friends. Hoping these ideas and printables can help your kids to enjoy some simple yet still magical fun. Decorations: When planning, we always start by looking at what we already have. My daughters have been obsessed with unicorns for years. I am actually surprised it took us this long to have our first unicorn themed birthday. We gathered all their unicorn toys as well as…

    L.O.L. Birthday

Recently my oldest daughter turned 7 and requested an L.O.L. Doll themed birthday. Fierce, creative, and so fashionable, it was a fun theme that reflected my daughter’s personality. No one was surprised when she told us her favorite dolls were Queen Bee and Royal Bee. Here is how my daughter helped me to craft her DIY home birthday party to celebrate with her family and first grade friends. Hoping these ideas and printables can help your kids to also enjoy some simple and fabulous fun. Decorations: We made pool noodle music notes and some cardboard boomboxes to help add a pop of color and fun to our kitchen. The pool…

    Harry Potter Birthday

My oldest loves reading and has recently discovered the magical world of Harry Potter. This is how we turned our home into Hogwarts to help him celebrate his 9 and 3/4 birthday using inexpensive supplies and limited time. I also made some free coloring pages, craft, as well as many themed party printables that is free to download below as well. Hoping these ideas and printables can help your kids to also enjoy some simple magic and fun. Decorations: These flying brooms take less than 15 minutes each to make using pantyhose (of all things), pool noodles, and kraft paper. I also cut up an old tan bedsheet to make…

    Sesame Street Birthday

My youngest recently turned two and we celebrated with a small but fun Sesame Street birthday party. This was the fourth Sesame Street birthday party that I have created for my kids and it was a bit bittersweet for me as it will likely be my last. There is just something about Elmo and all of his friends that has captivated all of my children around the age of two making it just a perfect theme for a toddler birthday. Here is how I pulled it off using simple supplies, little expense, and not much time. I also made some printable craft activities for my daughter as well as a…

    Princess Jasmine Birthday

Recently we transformed our home into magical Agrabah to celebrate my daughter’s 4th birthday. This is how I created a whole new world complete with flying carpets, genies, and magic lamps, using a small budget, little time, and everyday supplies. Decorations: I used clear fishing wire and hung up the kids’ dancing scarves that I purchased years ago from Amazon. These are a favorite from all the storytimes we used to attend at local libraries and schools. They are great for sensory play as well as for encouraging movement and singing songs. I used more fishing wire to tie little bits of yellow curling ribbon at the four corners so…

    Baseball Party

A few weeks ago, we threw an end of the year celebration for my son’s little league team. It was my husband’s first year coaching baseball and the team did amazing! With most people around us being double vaccinated, we also felt much safer about hosting. This was also before we knew about the Delta variant. The kids were just so thrilled to have people come into our home and not just drive-by. Decorations: I always start by looking at what we already have to turn into themed decor. White glitter Christmas ornaments that I used as pearls for my daughter’s mermaid birthday became baseballs with the addition of a…

    A Little Mermaid 6th Birthday

My daughter was born just a few weeks after Christmas. It has always been a challenge getting her birthday all ready and special for her. In the past, I got lucky using many Christmas decorations we already had up for her Frozen 4th, and even last year… using a lot of Christmas lights and lanterns for her Tangled 5th. But this year, little miss no nonsense wanted an Ariel birthday. I scoured what we already had… Christmas ornaments and ribbon, tissue paper, plastic tablecloths leftover from past parties, shells from our vacation at Siesta Key once upon a time, and this is what I came up with for her party…
