    Bird Nest Paper Craft

Today I wanted to share a simple spring craft for kids. All you need are some paper bowls, construction paper in green and brown, and the template that is free to download below. My kids really enjoyed making their own unique birds, eggs, and nests. I hope your kids will enjoy this too! First invite kids to paint their bowls. We used acrylic paint in nutmeg brown. In an effort to be more mindful of our environment, we purchased these compostable bowls to paint. After the paint is dried, kids can then glue on strips of brown construction paper and paper leaves to add more texture and interest to their…

    Bunny Crafts and Games

With Easter this weekend, I wanted to share some simple bunny themed crafts and games. Hope they can be helpful and fun for your kids! This file is best printed out onto regular printer paper, given to kids to color, cut, then paste onto toilet paper rolls. The pattern should fit onto standard toilet paper rolls but if you buy the ginormous toilet paper rolls from Costco, you will need to trim the ends. There are bunny feet included that you cut, fold, and paste to the bottom of the toilet paper roll or you could keep it really simple and just make bunnies without feet. We used this template…

    Mario Day Coloring Pages

Today I wanted to share some coloring pages and a word search to help kids observe Mario Day. Mario Day is on March 10th as MAR10 kind of looks like Mario’s name. I hope these pages can be a simple and fun way for your kids to celebrate Mario Day too! There are four coloring pages and a word search that I made included in this set that is free to download and print out for personal use. The artwork is my own and is Mario inspired but I do not claim ownership to any of the actual characters that are of course trademarked and copyrighted by Nintendo. I originally…

This file is best printed out onto white cardstock and given to kids to color and decorate as desired. My kids love watercolors so decided to paint their crowns. Gingerbread Castles

Here is a completely edible twist on the classic gingerbread house. After many bouts of tears over heavily decorated rooftops that have collapsed, our little family started to make gingerbread castles. I made a template that is free to download below. The castle is a very basic and simple design. Feel free to add brick marks with a butter knife before baking to fancy them up. This template is best printed out onto white cardstock, cut, and used as a guide to cut out the shapes from your rolled dough. We used this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I like it as there isn’t an extra step of having to…

    Disney Countdown for Kids

Are you getting ready to go to Disneyland or Disney World or are planning to go in the near future? I made a few printables for my little family as we recently had the opportunity to visit Disney World this fall. If you have never experienced Disney World in the fall, I would highly recommend it. The decorations were nice, the crowds a bit smaller than in the spring, and it was much less hot. I didn’t feel like I was melting all the time! I made a countdown for my kids to help count down the days to our vacation as well as a few to take along on…

    Easy Leprechaun Trap

My kindergartener came home recently with an assignment to construct a leprechaun trap. I wanted a project that she could do mostly on her own with some guidance using our recyclables and what craft supplies we already had on hand. We had so much fun crafting this together! Little sister who is three, also was able to complete most of the steps herself. I made some printable trap signs that are free to download below and have outlined our steps as carefully as possible in case your little ones would also like to try to catch a leprechaun. Here are all the supplies we used: construction paper, an empty Capri…
