Mario Day Coloring Pages
Today I wanted to share some coloring pages and a word search to help kids observe Mario Day. Mario Day is on March 10th as MAR10 kind of looks like Mario’s name. I hope these pages can be a simple and fun way for your kids to celebrate Mario Day too!
There are four coloring pages and a word search that I made included in this set that is free to download and print out for personal use. The artwork is my own and is Mario inspired but I do not claim ownership to any of the actual characters that are of course trademarked and copyrighted by Nintendo. I originally designed these coloring pages for a Mario themed birthday party for some kids last year and have modified them to share so that they can be used to celebrate Mario Day.
I grew up playing Super Mario with my little brother in the eighties and it is neat getting to now celebrate this Nintendo icon with my kids. As my kids are still young, we don’t own any video games or have any game system other than traditional board games but they did see the recent movie twice and are very familiar with all the characters.
These pages feature a super star and super mushroom along with coins, question mark boxes that Mario would hit with his head, and of course confetti to celebrate Mario Day. Coloring has so many wonderful benefits. It promotes mindfulness, meaning it helps kids and adults to focus more on being in the moment which really helps to destress. It helps fine motor skills to develop which will help kids to do things like button and zip up their own clothes by themselves, cut with scissors, and write nicely. It also improves hand eye coordination, helping kids to do things like hit and catch balls better and play an instrument while reading music for example. I hope these pages are enjoyed. My kids loved them.
I made this word search pretty doable as I wanted to challenge but not frustrate my kids. All the words can be found either vertically or horizontally, and are written forwards and backwards. Word searches also have so many benefits. They strengthen problem solving abilities, memory, verbal reasoning, and pattern recognition. Whenever possible I like to make them for my kids to sneak in some extra math or spelling practice. Hope this can be fun for your kids too!
