Labor Day Printable Activities for Kids

I made a few printable activities for my kids to help observe the holiday and understand why we celebrate it. There is an I Spy coloring activity, writing, as well as mystery math activity. They are all free to download below for personal, single classroom, or library use. We also pulled out some activities I made last year (Labor Day mini-book, coloring pages, and community helper popsicle stick puppets) to add to the fun.

This file is best printed out onto regular paper and given to your child to color, count, and complete. My kids love I spy games. This can also be laminated or placed in a laminated pouch for repeat use with dry erase markers. My preschooler found it to be a little challenging but still enjoyed it. It also gave her good practice writing her numbers.

I am always trying to find ways to get my kids to write more. They love art so by giving them the opportunity to draw along with writing really helps. This activity can be used for days other than Labor Day too to discuss workers in the community as well as future career options. I wanted to include this activity as it exemplifies what Labor Day is truly about. My first grader wrote about how she was thankful for the dentist because he cleans and fixes her teeth and gives her a big treat bag at the end.

I made this worksheet at the request of my son who has been working on triple digit subtraction with regrouping in school. He brought a pile to share with his third grade class. He loves puzzles to solve so this is a way to make these problems a bit more interesting and fun for him to complete.
