Thanksgiving Activities for Kids
Need a few last minute low prep activities for Thanksgiving? I’ve got you covered. There is a printable turkey hat template that can feature your child’s age as well as some festive math worksheets. They are all free to download below. I hope they can be fun for your family too!
This file is best printed out onto white cardstock and given to your child to color, embellish as desired, cut out, and staple together to form a turkey hat. Feel free to print the ages you need and save the rest for future years. Making paper hats and coloring are two activities my kids really enjoy plus they also make great photo props for the holidays. I also included a blank template if older kids or adults (I won’t judge) want to make one too. This activity led to lots of happy humming and intense focus for my kids for almost an hour. Hope they can help to add a little fun to your child’s day too!
I also made a Happy Thanksgiving turkey hat to share with my kids’ classes this year that is also free to download below.
My daughter’s first grade class has been working on basic math facts. Currently they are focusing on zeros so I made this color by number activity for them featuring my kids’ favorite holiday dessert….pumpkin pie. This activity can also be paired with a dice. Just have your child roll the dice, add or subtract zero, then color. My daughter really enjoys crafts and coloring so I have found that by combining her loves with math, she will practice her math facts without complaining. She now tells me her favorite subject in school is math.
My son who likes puzzles and jokes requested multiplication mystery math for his class so I made this worksheet for them. Hint: the answer is from the Thanksgiving turkey haha!
